What a timing
Today, a group of CHC members will be going to Israel. And what a timing, I happened to switch to Channel News Asia last night and there was an interview of Asians who are immigrants in Israel.
And really, I witnessed a very powerful and impactful testimony of a christian family who has been there for about 13 years or more. This man who was an ordinary person was a chinese vietnamese refugee. While in Vietnam he was working under a christian employer and this employer outreached to him and shared the Good News.
He was saved, got married and his family followed the faith. He started to pray and was asking God for direction if he should continue to stay in Vietnam. God told him to move to Israel which he didn't know why. Like Abraham, he obeyed and left Vietnam with his family.
He started to settle down in Israel and started a restaurant. Again, he prayed whether to move out of the country because of the unrest and uncertainty. But God told him to stay, again, he obeyed even though he didn't know what was in store for him.
Instead of doing nothing, he started to hold services in his restaurant to minister to his employees. He shared all these over TV!
And now after 13 years, he realised why God told him to stay put at where he is. After him, many chinese immigrants came to Israel for work as well. And so, he started his ministry to reach out to these chinese who are alone, helpless in a foreign country. He said that often, these workers are either underpaid otherwise not paid at all! How evil are their employers!
This man/missionary found the needs of the people and meet their needs. Every other week, he will visit construction sites to hold cell groups and share the word of God to encourage the chinese workers. And once a while he will organise a buffet for at least a hundred of the immigrants around his area to gather together for bonding.
It is so amazing how ONE employer touched the life of a man who touched the lives of many in Israel.
