An exchange of hearts
Finally, I get to watch Stardust with a group of friends - Aaron, Alvin, Audrey, Eunice and James.
It's quite nice show with nice shots and scenes, hilarious, light hearted and heart-warming.
I liked what the Star said - you don't use anything to exchange for the love of someone but love is about the exchanging of hearts.
Sometimes we make the mistake of working to earn the love of friends, family and even your partner or partner-to-be. But if you need to do or work to have their love, then either you are stupid or they are selfish and they don't love you at all , only what they can benefit from you.
This is story speaks about the relationship between people. For the Captain, he has to pretend to be someone he is not so that he will not lose the respect of the people and thus injure the reputation he has built over the years. Tristan, the main lead, thinks that by bringing back the Star, he can please the one he "loves" and have her hands in marriage. The brothers of the Kingdom plotted againse one another but ended up having nothing. Even if one survived, the royal blood runs in Tristan and he's the chosen King.
Think about it in the Kingdom of God. You think that the person's ministry is yours as well when God has something else for you. You think you like the person and you try to "earn" the love of the person which will only prove your foolishnes and waste of time when God probably have sent someone whom you can exchange hearts with. You can be who you are in Christ and people will still respect you because you respect and accept yourself as who God has created you to be. Promotion comes from God and not through backstabbing, politics or plots.
As for the witches, nothing is forever. "Even if you live forever, you will be a lonely person." - Quote from the movie. Beauty is not everything and the high price that you pay may not even be worth it.
These are some of the thoughts I have from this movie. It's worth to watch the movie, some parts are really hilarious, it's a good movie to watch and relax.
