Remember Lot's wife!
Genesis 19
v12: Then the angels said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here: a son-in-law, your sons and daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of this place,
v13: for we are about to destroy this place because the outcry against its people is great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it."
v24-26: Then the Lord rained burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the sky. He overthrew these cities, the entire plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and whatever grew on the ground. But his wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.

- Don't let the past hinder your future in 2006 and the years to come!
Don't look back to:
1. old sins that have been forgiven
Forgive yourself as God has forgiven you -- Guilt will destroy & take away your future.
1 John 1:7-9
v7: But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
v8: If we say, "We have no sin," we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
v9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Walk in the light -- fellowship with Jesus, Cg members, family, friends, etc.
Isaiah 43:25
"It is I who sweep away your transgressions for My own sake and remember your sins no more.
Psalms 103:12
As far as the east is from the west,so far has He removedour transgressions from us.
2. old defeats that will get you down
If you have never failed, you have not attempted anything in life.
-- at least try & put in effort
-- learn to lean on God
Psalms 37:23-24
v23: A man's steps are established by the Lord,and He takes pleasure in his way.
v24: Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed,because the Lord holds his hand.

-- If you don't move, God won't move.
-- "Though he falls" -> God knows that with our own strength, we will fall.
3. old conflicts that make you bitter
Imperfect people => imperfect relationship
Don't: a. nurse / b. curse / c. rehearse the hurts -- lift it up to God & He will disperse the hurts.
Proverbs 17:9
Whoever conceals an offense promotes love, but whoever gossips about it separates friends.
-- Only the devil will remind/repeat the mistakes or old wounds.
God is always positive and always has more faith than you have for yourself!
-- God will turn every tombstone to a new stepping stone!
Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.
-- Key to forgiveness -> ability to FORGET.
Genesis 41:51
Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, meaning, "God has made me forget all my hardship in my father's house."
Manasseh = making forgetful
God will make you forget all the hurts & afflictions -- Manasseh is a gift, ask from the Lord.
4. old victories and think you have arrived
There is always more in the kingdom of God.
Philippians 3:13
Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is,
Saddest Statement: Once / Before / In the past, I have done something for God.
God is a God of today!
