Keeping the Faith

Don't pull down your faith level to your experiences but PULL your experiences up to the level of faith that God has placed in you.

Galatians 6:9
So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up.

-- at a proper time God is going to bring miracles and revivals.

2 Keys to having a persistent faith

1. You must understand how God works or operates in your life.

There are 6 phases that God works through:

Phase 1: A Dream

God gives you a dream or desire, i.e. be fishers of men

Phase 2: A Decision

A dream is worthless unless you make a decision and decide to go for it!

Count the cost and take a step of faith for it

Let go of your insecurity

-- Moses gave up his career to rescue the Israelites

-- 12 disciples make a decision to leave everything behind & follow Jesus.

Phase 3: Delay

There is always a waiting period. You need to wait upon God. E.g. Moses and Joseph, etc.

Why does God take a long time to respond or work?

-- Teach to us to trust in Him!

NO is not = denial

NO = Not yet

A delay never destructs God's purpose in your life. Afterall, He is the author and finisher of our life and destiny.

Phase 4: Difficulties

What you experience and go through is part of God's plan to prepare and mold you.

Phase 5: Dead End

Everything looks hopeless!

When everything seems logically & physically impossible, God steps in to LIFT us up.

The devil wants us to be in doubt and back track! -- But this is the time that we look up and learn to trust in God.

Phase 6: Deliverance

When you come to a dead-end situation, Don't Give Up!

2 Corinthians 1

1:8
For we don't want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in the province of Asia: we were completely overwhelmed--beyond our strength--so that we even despaired of life.
1:9
However, we personally had a death sentence within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.
1:10
He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and He will deliver us; we have placed our hope in Him that He will deliver us again

God allows dreams to die at times so that our faith can be strengthened & mature.

PUSH YOUR FAITH UP! - Watch how the Lord deliver you from your dead-end.

Nothing is impossible with God

2. Learn to wait on God

Bible talks alot on endurance, patience & to wait upon God.

Psalms 46:10
";Stop [your fighting]-and know that I am God,exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.";

Waiting is something important.

W - Withstanding
= endure succesfully

Ephesians 6

v13: This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.

v16:In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish the flaming arrows (darts) of the evil one.

Hold your position & REFUSE to give up & surrender.

Dart 1: Doubt
Dart 2: Depression
Dart 3: Discouragement
Dart 4: Detour (E.g. Abraham lay with Hagar and bore Ishmael - works of flesh)

A - Anticipate

Expect God to do something great while you wait

Psalms 27:13

I am certain that I will see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living.

What are you expecting God to do in your life?

HOPE = Holding on, Praying Expectantly

I - Intercede

Pray while you are anticipating.

Luke 18:1

He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged:

Always pray and not lose heart - Don't quit, keep on praying!

Psalms 5:3

At daybreak, Lord, You hear my voice;at daybreak I plead my case to You and watch expectantly.

When you quit praying, you bring down your faith.

T - Trust

Psalms 37:5
Commit your way to the Lord;trust in Him, and He will act,

Fit into God's schedule. Don't fit Him into your schedule.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding;

You don't have to know EVERYTHING before God can do a miracle.

Ecclesiastes 3
v1: There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven

v11: He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts, but man cannot discover the work God has done from beginning to end.

We don't have to always want something and want it NOW!

Jesus waited 7 days after Lazarus' death before resurrecting him.

Everything has a time and season & a purpose. God will make everything beautiful in HIS time.
