A Friend Who Stands By No Matter Who/Where You Are
I have just finished watching the 'live' service which Pst Ulf was preaching on friendship and loneliness.
It was so true that people today are lonely and many have suicidal thoughts. They are always in need of friends or searching for acceptance. But thank God, for there is no loneliness in the presence of His love as we enter into His rest being the child of the Heavenly Father.
The love of this world will grow cold and people living in the world will love the things of the world more than the people around them. Instead of using things, they use people and love the things that they desire. But with God's love in our hearts, we love people and use the things of the world to bless those God has placed in our lives.
Selfishness, anger, disagreements will break the friendships and the relationships. Therefore, we always need to ask God to help us release forgiveness because LOVE is the weapon that we have against the devil to win the lost over to God's side. That is why the devil hates love and as children of God, we have the love of Christ that is shed abroad in our hearts (Ro5:5). Never allow the devil to have the opportunity to pull you away and even the other away from the presence and unconditional friendship that you have.
In work, we may face the kind of worldly colleagues that use you or take advantage of you but we are to use love to change them. Tough, but that's what the Bible says, to love your enemies as yourself. They may not be worthy but as you obey the word of God, the unworthy people will ultimately feel ashame and step aside.
To waste your energy getting angry with the people who offended you, why not use the energy to fight against the devil? Because it is for this very purpose, that he sows discords among people, making you lose focus and ultimately, out of alignment of what God wants to do for your lives!
Love wins and there's no other way. And this is the very reason why Jesus came to die on the cross for ALL because of His unconditional love.
Friends listen and always supports, even though there may be diference in opinions or views. But they still stand by each other, praying for one another and gently points out the areas of weaknesses so that these areas will be strengthened.
Friends keeps their promises and carry them out even though the other party may have forgotten.
Be a friend to others because Jesus is our friend. It doesn't matter whether we gain or lose because our hopes are not in men but on God. We love because God first loves us.
We are never alone because Jesus is our eternal friends. He has place eternity in us and we are eternal beings, we will see each other in heaven.
